Calumet, MI – Copper Island Academy is proud to announce that it has been awarded the 2024 Innovation and Vision Award by The Center for Charter Schools at Central Michigan University (CMU). This prestigious award recognizes CMU partner schools’ unique and innovative approaches.
Each year, The Center for Charter Schools celebrates the 69 charter schools it partners with across Michigan by recognizing one school that exemplifies innovation in education. All partner schools are eligible to apply, and from the pool of applications, three finalists are chosen to present their initiatives at the CMU Charters Annual Conference. This year, nearly 600 conference attendees had the opportunity to vote, and Copper Island Academy emerged as the winner.

The award underscores the school’s dedication to implementing creative and impactful strategies that enhance the learning experience for its students.
